چکیده

ABSTRACT The origin of the diverse light-curve shapes Type II supernovae (SNe), and whether they come from similar or distinct progenitors, has been actively discussed for decades. Here, we report spectropolarimetry two fast declining (Type IIL) SNe: SN 2013ej 2017ahn. exhibited high continuum polarization very soon after explosion to radioactive tail phase with time-variable angles. this polarimetric behaviour can be interpreted as combination different aspherical structures, namely an interaction ejecta circumstellar matter (CSM) inherently explosion. Aspherical explosions are a common feature slowly IIP) SNe. By contrast, 2017ahn showed low not only in photospheric but also phase. This phase, which never before observed other IIP/L SNe, suggests that was nearly spherical. These observations imply IIL SNe have, at least, origins: result stars have properties and/or mass-loss processes. fact might indicate 13ej-like originate progenitor those IIP accompanied by CSM interaction, while 17ahn-like more massive less hydrogen its envelope.

VLT Spectropolarimetry of the fast expanding Type Ia SN 2006X

Aims. The main goal of this study is to probe the ejecta geometry and to get otherwise unobtainable information about the explosion mechanism of Type Ia Supernovae (SNe). Methods. Using VLT-FORS1 we performed optical spectropolarimetric observations of the Type Ia SN 2006X on 7 pre-maximum epochs (day −10 to day −1) and one post-maximum epoch (+39 days). Results. The SN shows strong continuum i...

OPTICAL SPECTROPOLARIMETRY AND ASPHERICITY OF TYPE Ic SN 2007

We present optical spectropolarimetric observations of Type Ic supernova (SN) 2007gr with Subaru telescope at 21 days after the maximum brightness (∼ 37 days after the explosion). Non-zero polarization as high as ∼ 3 % is observed at the absorption feature of Ca ii IR triplet. The polarization of the continuum light is ∼ 0.5% if we assume an interstellar polarization (ISP) with which SN photosp...

Non-zero polarization as high as ∼ 3 % is observed at the absorption feature of Ca ii IR triplet. The polarization of the continuum light is ∼ 0.5% if we estimate the interstellar polarization (ISP) component assuming...

PHOTOMETRIC OBSERVATIONS OF TWO TYPE II - P SUPERNOVAE : NORMAL SN II - P 2004 A AND UNUSUAL SN 2004 ek

CCD BV RI photometry is presented for type II Supernovae 2004A and 2004ek. SN 2004A is found to be a typical SN II-P, with the shape of the light and color curves and maximum luminosity closely matching those for SN 1999em. SN 2004ek shows unusual light curves with long flat plateau in the B band, two peaks in the V and prominent brightening in the R and I bands, starting about 45 days past out...

Spectropolarimetry of the Type Ib/c SN 2005bf⋆

We present spectropolarimetric observations of the peculiar Type Ib/c SN 2005bf, in MCG+00-27-005, from 3600-8550Å. The SN was observed on 2005 April 30.9, 18 days after the first B-band light-curve maximum and 6 days before the second B-band light-curve maximum. The degree of the Interstellar Polarization, determined from depolarized emission lines in the spectrum, is found to be large with pm...
